The Cody Homestead, Buffalo Bill Cody’s boyhood home, is located in rural Scott County. The homestead is closed for the winter, opening the first of April. You can read about the homestead online.


Applications for a variety of seasonal positions with the Scott County Conservation Board parks are now being accepted online.  Please go to the Human Resources webpage to apply.  Seasonal positions can start as early as April and end as late as October depending upon the position, but most are for the period from Memorial Day to Labor Day.  Salaries vary depending upon the type of position and experience or certifications required.


Emerald Ash BorerFirewood Alert

Keep exotic insect pests away from Iowa trees. Bringing firewood from the states of MI (Lower Peninsula), OH, IL, and IN is a violation of federal law as it may harbor Emerald Ash Borer, a major pest of Iowa's native trees. Visit with park staff or call (515) 725-1470 for more information.


Pine Grove CabinsLuxury Rental Cabins

Scott County Park adds two luxury rental cabins to the park. Each cabin will comfortably sleep six, with two bedrooms, a full bathroom, living room, fireplace, and kitchen area. The cabins feature finished interiors, decks, grading and landscaping.
